Forging the Frontier

Hey Everyone and welcome back to Forging the Frontier!

This week we hosted our 3rd ever frontier tournament on mtgo and this one like the others was a great event. Prizes for the event were 7-4-2-2-1-1-1-1 with 5 credits per week going to the seasons end leaders tournament.  If you'd like to find out more about the tournament and how you can join, follow this link http://battleonthefrontier.weebly.com/.

This week we're going to focus in on a deck from our top 4 that we haven't seen entered before.
Littlefield's "Mono White Aggro".  This is one deck that I believe could have won the whole tournament and will be a contender for some time to come. The sheer force and ability for this deck to snowball into something unstoppable is really something fun to watch and play.

Let's check it out!

[[deck: 19240]]

First off, let me mention that there is actually 4 [[card_link: Dragon Hunter]] and 4 [[card_link: Knight of the White Orchid]] that aren't able to be shown in the deck, but rest assured they are there.
Alright let's get into the creatures. First on the list is [[card_link: Dragon Hunter]] and [[card_link:Expedition Envoy]]. These two creatures are basically just value "beatdown" creatures in the 1 drop spot. They are good at getting in early damage on their own but are also "humans" which will come into play with other creatures in the deck.  [[card_link: Mardu Woe Reaper]] is another 2/1 1 drop creature that gives you a little life gain option while also being a "human". Where the deck really gets interesting and has the power to snowball is when you get down a few cheap humans, and then cast [[card_link: Hanweir Militia Captain]] or [[card_link: Thalia's Lieutenant]] buffing up all of your creatures or giving you the ability to have one very large creature. [[card_link:Metallic Mimic]] is a great choice as a two drop in this deck because not only does it become a human, but it also gives all of your humans +1/+1 counters when entering the battlefield.  Now as it stands you might be thinking that having all these big creatures is great but how to we get damage through. Enter [[card_link: Abzan Falconer]]. This card can be a game changer when you have a board full of creatures with counters, a lot of times this will signal the end of the game.[[card_link: Kytheon, Hero of Akros]] is a great addition to this deck as it's planeswalker mode can be pretty powerful.

[[card: Thalia's Lieutenant]] [[Hanweir Militia Captain]]

[[card_link: Always Watching]] not only gives your creatures +1/+1 but it also gives them vigilance witch is actually a very powerful mechanic in this deck. [[card_link: Silk Wrap]] is really the only form of creature removal in the deck. You're not really worried about what creatures the other player has most of the time, but having two of these can make the difference in a match up with a deck like "ensoul aggro" which we went over last week.

 [[card: Always Watching]]

If you're looking for a deck to play on a budget, this is an excellent choice. This deck not only competes but I can easily see it being one of the top decks for weeks to come. If you would like to join in on the fun and compete at one of our tournaments click this link http://battleonthefrontier.weebly.com/.
All are welcome to come out and take a shot at some great prizes, and as always, it's free entry.
Hope to see you all there!

See you next week for another edition of Forging the Frontier!
